Skiing

The North Island Skiing Competition will be held at Turoa Ski Field, Mt Ruapehu, from the 16th - 18th September.

There are two divisions, Junior Women (under 16 in the year of competition) and Senior Women (16 and over in the year of competition).

The courses will be set for successful competition by intermediate skiers who may have had no previous experience with gates.  The competition consists of a timed giant slalom and a dual slalom.  Training will be held at Snow Planet and weekends on the mountain prior to the competition.

All costs to attend the competition are met by members of the ski team (fund raising activities are organised to help with the cost).

Skiers wear navy or black ski pants and a school skiing singlet.  A school ski jacket is provided.
