Accommodation

There are 3 options available regarding accommodation arrangements for International Students:
1. Epsom Girls Grammar School can organise homestay accommodation for the students through our Accommodation Coordinator. Most students opt for this style of stay. They can experience real Kiwi home life. All families are carefully selected. They are vetted by the police and the houses meet a high standard of comfort. Students generally find that they end up with a second family for life. Their stay in the home is regularly and carefully monitored to ensure that all sides have a positive experience. A sample copy of the International Student Homestay Contract is included in the application pack, which the parents would be required to sign should the student be accepted as an international student.
2. The student can live with her parents. Note: Parents will be expected to remain in New Zealand while their daughter attends Epsom Girls Grammar School. A copy of the appropriate visa needs to be included with the acceptance of offer of place.
3. Parents may allow their daughter to live with a designated caregiver, who must be a close family friend or relative committed to staying with the student the whole of her stay and that accommodation needs to be approved by the School. If you intend to choose this option you will be required to complete a statement regarding your designated caregiver arrangements.

Homestay Families

EGGS welcomes enquiries from families who would like to host a student from another country. It is a chance to broaden horizons and make contacts abroad. In 2013 families receive NZ$260 which increases to NZ$265 in 2014. We seek welcoming, caring families who have a spare bedroom with a desk and heating. The home should be roughly no more than five kilometres from the school. If you are interested, please ring 9706757 and ask for Sharyn Goodall. *Note: families need to agree to a police check.
