Our school Athletics Days, held on Tuesday 18 February and Friday 21 February, were a tremendous success, drawing over 800 competitors to showcase their talents across various field and track events. The competition was fierce, with 36 outstanding athletes qualifying for the College Sport Athletics Zones Competition.
The Friday started with Epsom Girls Grammar School’s annual tutor group parade. It was wonderful to see the full class participation (including many teachers) in this event. The judges appreciated the unity demonstrated in the dances produced and the costumes designed, as well as the skill shown with the banners. Congratulations to all tutor groups for this fun event which celebrates the school community.
The event wouldn't have been possible without the extraordinary dedication of our sports prefects and committee members, who worked to make the event a success. The Physical Education department's expertise was invaluable, along with the support from numerous teachers who volunteered to run events and look after the crowds watching the activities.
The excitement culminated in the highly anticipated staff versus students' race, where the staff team claimed victory to end the finals day on a high note. The camaraderie, sportsmanship, and community spirit on display made it a memorable occasion for everyone involved.
